Jumping the broom was once the secret way African slaves in America signified their marriage to each other. As a way of remembering that heritage, our heritage, it is often included at the end of traditional wedding ceremonies today. You may not know that jumping the broom was also an ancient Celtic tradition. The brooms can be simple and rustic or elegant - as is this one, and can be coordinated with your colors and wedding theme. This broom's handle has been painted to match the deep blue of the bristles and the handle is then overlaid with glittering ribbon, white cord and a rhinestone strand. The pristine white roses are a lovely contrast against the deep blue bristles. After your ceremony, your broom might be displayed on your reception sweetheart table and then become a memorable keepsake of your very special day. There's a ribbon loop at the top of the handle (middle loop of the bow) if you want to hang your broom.
Shipping rates vary dramatically from east to west coasts and from country to country, and also according to the weight and size of a package. The merchandise in my shop varies quite a bit in size and weight. Therefore I have not listed an overall shipping rate for all countries or all items. If you are ordering from outside the USA contact me and I will gladly check on and give you the accurate shipping cost. Also very important: If you live in an apartment complex or a gated community, your package may be delivered to a front desk/reception area or to security or the management office, so be sure to check there if your order hasn't been delivered directly to you by the expected arrival date (I will always tell you what that date is according to the mailing service - usually USPS). Also, very important: UPS and USPS do not deliver to P.O. box addresses. Please provide a street address.
